February’s Featured Performer: Norris Perry, Singer
Norris Perry has been singing and entertaining for over 40 years. His music includes songs from over 21 artists and music from every genre.
Norris grew up in Denton, Texas. At 6 years old, he began singing for audiences. In 5th grade, he performed in the NTSU Opera “La Boheme.” After that, he knew he wanted to sing for the rest of his life.
At 13, Norris taught himself to play the guitar and sing folk music. His first gig was on the NTSU campus when he was 18 years old.
Norris’s father urged him to get a business degree and keep music as a hobby. After graduation, Norris worked in the business world for over 30 years. When the economy crashed in 2008, he continued working but also went back to performing.
Norris has appeared in over 8500 shows in 419 communities. He has sung for the Texas rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and at Lone Star Park. One of his greatest thrills was singing at the American League Championship Series game to over 52,000 people in the stadium and to over 6 million people on national television.
Much of Norris’ past years have been devoted to singing at senior organizations through out the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
